About
Six years inside money movement.
Six years, most of them inside money movement. At Nepal Clearing House I worked on the retail payment switch carrying transactions between Nepal and India, and on the merchant side of connectIPS — MDR schemas, surcharge profiles, and the settlement reconciliation that has to balance before anyone goes home.
Before that, three years at Ipay Remit: remittance portals, an eKYC middleware, a FOREX platform for the Japan corridor, and an HR system that ended up running the company's payroll. I started there as a QA analyst, which is probably why I still read other people's error paths first.
Alongside all of it, freelance work for a restaurant group in Canberra — ordering, payroll and two nursing workforce apps — and seven years in the Leo Club of Kathmandu Nirbana, where I'm currently president.
I like the unglamorous parts. Retries, idempotency, the reconciliation report someone opens at nine in the morning and expects to be right.

Building and running a restaurant ordering platform for Lakeside Gurkhas in Canberra — menus, cart, Stripe and PayPal checkout, and Google Maps distance checks that decide whether an address is inside the delivery radius. It sits on a Google Cloud VM I set up and maintain.

Five consecutive elected terms on the club board, each office a bit heavier than the last, and now a seat on the district council. Service work is where I learned to run a budget and chair a room, which turns out to be most of what a lead engineer does anyway.
